NGO

My search for a livelihood brought me to Jalandhar in 1992. I have spent my childhood in the dense jungle of Chhattisgarh in the lap of Mother Nature, amongst wild birds and animals.
I have brought with me my compassion and feeling of care for wildlife, especially the birds. Whenever I spot an injured and abandoned bird lying helpless along the roadside, I am heavily inclined towards picking it up and helping it in some possible way.
Earlier, I used to bring them to my house and shelter them in cardboard/wooden boxes. Then later on, I realised that in order to help a bigger lot, I had to have ample space and inputs. Thus, this led to the inception of “AASHRAY”¾A registered NGO with its roots at my residence..
“AASHRAY” means “Shelter” in Hindi. With the same vision in our minds, we have been able to achieve what we had aspired for and will continue to do so, so long as we get the support of our beloved readers and well-wishes.

We have been able to treat innumerable injured and sick birds that were then set free to fly high into open sky. Many disabled birds are left behind with us, crippled for life and are not able to drift themselves in order to achieve a successful flight. They stay here, at Aashray, with us till their least breath.

Aashray is registered as a Society with Regn. No-DIC/JAL/162/2010-11. We are also registered as NGO, Govt of India NGO-Partnership ID-PB/2010/0033833.
I am feeling really proud to state that at least we have been able to contribute a little in conserving the environment by attempting to help its integral part—the BIRDS
